Five months into COVID and from lifestyle magazines to mainstream press, through your average TikTok influencer, it seems that by now everyone shared their opinion about how we should all rethink our life. Ranked first on most lists is the idea we should all move out to farmland in the countryside and grow our own carrots. How lovely. Next, we’re asked to reconnect to what matters (sourdough bread!), rethink big decisions (sayonara New York City!) , recalculate our life paths (mastered sourdough bread? Maybe it’s time to leave your boring office job and open a boulangerie?). Charming.

As creators operating in the juxtaposition of culture and commerce, the sense of betterment alongside the excitement of innovation is engraved in everything we do. Still, experience has taught us that even the greatest change needs to live in some proximity to reality. Going small will be a short fad while going long is the real opportunity right now. Rethinking societal structures based on compassion and shared success excites me more than the cutest Instagramable avocado farm. The most successful changes in our history had both cultural and commercial impacts and I’m excited to be a part of the ones coming next. Blessed innovations and noble ideas that has been discussed and offered by new companies that have been benched for the past few years, now have the opportunity to get legitimized, offering an alternative to the old order. Think digital currencies, female leadership, legalized cannabis, fair representation of POC and minorities in centers of power, a normalized Middle East and more.

Moving out of the city, working in our underpants from a deserted location, indeed sounds like a great experience we would all enjoy. A livable society with a shared sense of future for all, on the other hand, is a more exciting idea to me. Shake the mud off your boots and please enjoy this playlist on the drive back to the city, where you belong.
